Church of Santa Ana
This church was reconstructed after the seismic crisis of the 60’s. It is probably one of the oldest temples of the island; however, there are no references to it before the 17th century.
It was built in stone masonry plastered and painted white, while its relevant architectonic and decorative elements are displayed in stonework. We also observe an eyepiece over the main door.
The festivity in honour of the patron saint is carried out on the last weekend of July, with a religious and profane programme. On the Monday of Terreiro de Macela, the bodo de leite [local festivity] is carried out, with a performance of the ethnographic group of Beira and songs.
