The Casa do Oleiro is a country house set in a rural environment where the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding scenery promises its guests the opportunity to experience the Santa Maria from the best view.The Casa do Oleiro, is a restoring of typical Santa Maria’s house, which we kept outside the architecture of the traditional houses, highlighting the chimney of a wedge, one of two typical types of chimneys of the Island.
The house combines the tranquility of the countryside to the art that once was one of the most important activities in Santa Maria - the pottery. Thus, in the House, the table pottery and small handcrafted objects merge with the equipment needed for a comfortable stay.
In selfcatering, full autonomy and privacy, with a double bedroom, a bathroom and an open area with kitchen and living room, the Casa do Oleiro is the perfect place to enjoy the simplicity of rural tourism.

The Casa do Oleiro is located on the north side of the island of Santa Maria, in the village of Santa Barbara, where you will be fascinated with the landscape of the mountain that finds the sea.

Countryside of excellence, in the place of Norte there are less than a dozen houses for permanent housing, so here you’ll find silence and privacy to enjoy the breathtaking view of the islet Lagoinhas and deep, on favorable days, sighting the island of São Miguel.
Norte is located approximately 6 km away from São Lourenço bay, the major panorama symbol of Santa Maria Island, and 4 km from the center of the village of Santa Bárbara.
