Windmill

This set of mills belong to the type of rotating wood mill with an eccentric front spindle without pedestal, of the type "São Jorge". These are unique in the island of São Jorge and have had a great influence of the mills of the coastal zone central and north of mainland Portugal.

The whole mill rests on two wheels and has an irregular hexagonal plan with a front face from where the mast leaves, in turn its cover has an irregular pyramidal shape. These forms guarantee aerodynamic stability and their rotation allows a total use of wind coming from all angles.
